With over fifty dive sites, the archipelago is a true paradise for explorers of the underwater world (complementing the already interesting fauna and flora).

Unmissable Dive Spots

- Secca di Punta Secca (Capraia): Considered one of the most fascinating dives in the Mediterranean, this site features walls covered with red and yellow gorgonians, colorful sponges and, at greater depths, branches of black coral. It is possible to encounter lobsters, groupers, snappers and amberjacks.

- Scoglio del Corvo (Capraia): This submerged promontory offers a plateau and three hills rich in marine life. Among the cracks you can observe forkbeards, lobsters and nudibranchs, while in the surrounding waters swim schools of salemas, white breams and predators such as snappers and tuna.

- Scoglio dell'Elefante (San Domino): Ideal for beginner divers, this site owes its name to the characteristic shape of the rock. Diving here allows you to observe white breams, lobsters and scorpion fish, as well as small marine caves rich in life.

Snorkeling: The Best Places

- Cala Matano (San Domino): This small cove, with crystal clear waters and a seabed rich in colors, is perfect for snorkeling.

- Cala degli Inglesi (San Domino): A rocky bay with clear turquoise waters, offers breathtaking seabeds for snorkeling lovers.

- Grotta del Bue Marino (San Domino): Accessible only by boat, this cave has walls that are tinged with blue thanks to a suggestive play of lights, making the snorkeling experience unique.

Marine Flora and Fauna

The waters of the Tremiti Islands are home to an extraordinary biodiversity. Among the most common species are groupers, moray eels, octopuses, starfish and a variety of colorful sponges. The meadows of Posidonia oceanica offer refuge to numerous marine species, contributing to the richness of the local ecosystem.

Diving and Snorkeling Tips

- Safety: It is essential to dive with expert guides, especially in sites with strong currents or great depths.

- Equipment: Make sure you have adequate equipment and in good condition. Many local diving centers offer rental and assistance services.

- Respect for the Environment: The Tremiti Islands are part of a Marine Protected Area. It is essential to respect local rules, avoid touching or collecting marine organisms and do not leave waste.

In short, the Tremiti Islands are an unmissable destination for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts, thanks to the variety of seabeds, the richness of marine life and the natural beauty of the archipelago. Whether you are an expert diver or a beginner, the Tremiti Islands will give you unforgettable emotions in the heart of the Mediterranean.
